Theresa Talatu Ochu is a self-motivated and experienced Program Management/Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist with demonstrated history of working in strategic information. A professional Coach/Mentor for individuals and organizations with proven analytical and conceptual skills. A seasoned international development and public health professional with over 18 years experience in various sectors and regions across Africa. She has a track record of managing and implementing MEARL for donor-funded development projects, conducting policy research and analysis, building strategic partnerships, and leading MEL teams and initiatives. She is passionate about leveraging policy to influence sustainable impact in developing economies. She has participated and contributed to the design, implementation and evaluation of major health and Economic Development Studies for Nigeria.

Theresa holds a B.Sc in Zoology, PGD in Computer Science and Masters in Public Health. She is currently concluding her Masters in Organizational Development Studies. Tessy has certification in Monitoring & Evaluation of Population, Health & Nutrition Programs from the University of North Carolina at the East West Centre, University of Hawaii at Manoa, USA; and Communicating Data to Policy Makers from John Hopkins University, USA. She also holds several certifications in Humanitarian services support from reputable institutions across the world, including DisasterReady.Org, UNICEF, Peace Operations Training Institute, Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the United States Institute for Peace.
Her Career Objective is to add significant value to the improvement of health and its determinants among any given human population, Economic Development, Social Sector Services and Governance Reforms using tested quantitative and qualitative methodologies in designing, implementing and evaluating interventions to provide quality data that will aid evidence-based decision making.
Theresa is currently a consultant Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Research and Learning Expert providing technical support to UN funded projects. She served as the MEL Advisor for Palladium, Project Manager (Evaluating Primary Health Care Performance for Network for Health Equity and Development funded by Gates Foundation), Data Demand and Use Advisor for MEASURE Evaluation – University of North Carolina. Previously she has worked mostly full time but also as consultant on national projects with sub-national levels support funded by donors such as USAID, CDC, FCDO (formerly DFID) PIND Foundation and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She has also consulted for the United Nations and World Bank and, also provided technical support for health care services in Kenya.
